In the aftermath of recurrent gun violence in America and perpetuation of endless war in Syria, the Historic Peace Churches (HPC): Friends/Quakers, The Brethren, and The Mennonites, of Florida are launching a new initiative to invite and to involve other churches, religious groups, and organizations to attend, and to participate in the Annual Gathering, responsive to the urgency of local and international peace issues.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Deri Ronis, of the Conflict Resolution Centre of Sarasota, FL. She is a specialist in conflict resolution and international peace studies, and has been providing innovative seminars, talks and workshops for over two decades.

Small group break-out sessions will be facilitated in four theme areas: Non-violent Social Change; Immigration Reform; Economic Justice; and Militarism. Resource materials will be provided from the HPC, and invitees describing what they are doing in program activities; and discussion will focus upon how we could all work more closely together in our actions and resource sharing, coordinating our planning to have more impact on government, schools, media, and other institutions and organizations.

Registration and cost information are available from Phil Lersch (727)544-2911, or PhilLersch@verizon.net .
