Cross Country Peace Walk
an article by Ross Lampert

The Walking Bohemian Band of Hope left Tucson, Arizona on Feb. 22 to walk to Washington, D.C. for peace. The two original members, Christina Rouhoff and Ross Lampert are still walking strong. We are now in Colombia, South Carolina and will be heading up US 1 to Camden, SC on Monday, June 9. We have picked up two additional members along the way. Daniel Hoffman joined the group in April in Austin, Texas, and Rev. Robert Flanders joined the group in May in the panhandle of Florida. A fifth member of the group, Tonina Franchesa, is joining up with us here in Colombia.

We plan to arrive in DC on July 4 and will be holding a rally there. We invite everyone to join our walk and/or come to the rally in DC. If you would like to join the walk, please contact us at (520) 241-2022. If you would like to attend the rally, please contact Nathaniel Kirchner at (520) 481-6096 or email us at Band_of_Hope@excite.com. For more information, please visit our website.

[coordinator's note: The website indicates that the goal of the walk is to raise awareness of alternate (peaceful) modes to conflict resolution and protest war.]
