The most interesting part of this Interfaith
Cultural Study Tour was to expand people's
experiences with other cultures and views of the
world. The participants visited places of
religious worship including Buddhist temples,
Hindu chapels, churches, and mosques, and learned
details about the nation's religious history.
The second aspect of the tour included Special
Seminars on “Theology of Work Courses” at Lalit
Pur & Kathmandu mainly facilitated by Professor
Dr. Fletcher L. Tink (Executive Director, BRESEE
Institute, Kansas City, USA). The group also
visited the Pakistani Embassy in Kathmandu to
celebrate Independence Day on 14th August, 2013.
Friendship, mutual understanding, tolerance,
equality, harmonious intercultural dialogue,
development of respect for religions - these and
many other humanistic ideas were the part of the
framework of the tour from the beginning to the
end, contributing to the establishment of
relationships of trust. In this atmosphere, the
priorities were mutual understanding and mutual
assistance, which would help the participants to
discover new facets of interpersonal relations.
The Interfaith Cultural Study Tour ended with a
visit to Bhaktapur which is listed as a World
Heritage Site by UNESCO for its rich culture,
temples, and wood, metal and stone artwork.
