Greeting of Peace from United Social Welfare Society, Pakistan
un articulo por Stephin Rafiq
We bring you greetings from the bottom of my
heart. Here we want to introduce our
organization. We are leading an organization
"USWS-PAK” For sometime now, precisely since 2001,
We have been pioneering my foundation in different
ways in southern Punjab Pakistan,

USWS has now established strong roots in the
community and has created a culture of
participatory development among its target
communities. To reduce poverty, injustice and
miseries of the marginalized communities in its
target areas, USWS is focusing on Youth,
livelihood, Children Right and programs to promote
the health of children, working in Punjab
province. It's operating on humanitarian basis
without any discrimination such as sex, caste,
creed, sect, colour, or place of origin.
The main objectives to focus on Christian youth
belonging to marginalized groups in different part
of Pakistan and empower them with skills and
knowledge so that these trained youth become Peer
Educator in their respective areas and promoting
the message of peace, interfaith harmony,
sectarian and ethnic tolerance amongst their peer
groups.
The project is much needed in Pakistan where there
have been attacks on Churches, Temple, Mosques
damaging life and property. The major damage was
done by the forces/elements that fueled
polarization and extremism. Some of recent cases
are murder of the Governor of the Punjab Salman
Taseer and subsequently kidnapping his son Shahbaz
Taseer, Murder of famous Christian leader &
Federal Minister Shahbaz Bhatti, Bishop John
Joseph who proposed improvement on the blasphemy
laws. The burning of villages in district
Khanewal, Kasur, Gojra caused huge hue and cry
across the country. The Sectarianism and ethnic
killings in Pakistan especially in Gilgit (Gilgit
Baltistan Province) and Karachi(Sindh Province)
and recent incident of Joseph Colony Badami Bagh
Lahore all these incidents have damaged harmony
and peace in these areas. Gender bias especially
bias against the females is also a very serious
issue which has led to violence against women.
We highly request you please provide us guidance our
organization to provide the facilities to recommend
other Donors & NGOS& Churches work the deserving
people of the respective areas in Pakistan.
