UNESCO has registered the Life-Link Teacher Guidelines on Culture of Care and Water for Life. More than 4000 performed school actions are summarized on www.life-link.org, schools & actions.

Here is one concrete example of culture of peace action with focus on neighbors constructive RRR-cooperation (Reduce- Reuse- Recycle): One girl teenager student, inspired by the Life-Link RRR action, has now together with her mother introduced an RRR program in one of the big apartment Towers in Tehran, involving 570 families in recycling and turning waste into resources. The owners of the Tower and municipality agencies are involved in joyful and constructive manners. It is a win-win situation.

The next Life-Link international conference takes place in Amman in early October, and we plan to keep the Schools Earth Care Campaign 2010-2014 active.

Peace Studies in School Curricula, What would it take to make it happen around the world?

Comentario más reciente: :

During the Asian Educators Symposium, we found out that Peace Education is still not part of the school curriculum in most countries. However, the participating teachers have been incorporating peace education in their teaching subjects, such as English, social studies, and character education. We all agreed that love and the will to nurture peace in children are the most important basis for peace education. Even if peace education is not a part of the curriculum, peace can be taught through any subject. Whatever you are teaching, if it comes from the heart, then it will touch the minds of children.
