Students who participated in the walk along the streets of Siquinalá streets showed messages inviting viewers to avoid violence and promote peace.

Graciela Nineth Ordóñez Sáenz, a local justice of the peace, said that the activity is an initiative of the Supreme Court and the Judiciary through the Magistrates' Courts, with the aim of integrating institutions of justice with the community and achieving a positive protection for the society.

She added that the activity ended at the town hall with a street fair for justice which provided information from different institutions, so that people know how to file a complaint or get advice if they are victims of any crime.

She explained that the court hears many cases of child abuse, robbery, extortion and violence, but that the population lacks a culture of filing complaints.

Rafael Gonzalez, chief of the Southern District of the National Police in Escuintla, stressed that this activity is important to make people acquainted with the justice sector, and to inspire citizens to contribute to peace.

Comentario más reciente: :

Community plays a important role in developing culture peace. We should promote our cultural values by interacting with each other and making these values part of our daily lives. A good example of this would be raising our children according to beliefs and values which are important for us and our cultural peace. We can also promote cultural peace by making small commuinties within big community and share different ideas and bring new ones in.
