According to the Secretary Inailza Rosário Barata, the goal of the campaign is to raise awareness about the importance of supporting and strengthening a culture of peace and non-violence among all people and especially to prevent violence against women. At this time the action will be distributing information related to human rights, combating violence against women and disseminating the Maria da Penha law, [a law that was passed in 2006 in Brazil to ensure punishment for perpetrators of domestic violence, named after a victim who became a leader in the struggle for women's rights].

Besides the distribution of information, there will also be symbolic gifts for pedestrians and drivers of vehicles that pass by during the campaign.

The Secretary believes that such action is needed to contribute to a reduction in the rate of violence against women in the state of Amapá. "Investing in the culture of peace and enhancing the awareness of people to not engage in violence."

The Special Secretariat of Policies for Women has the support and participation of the Women's Assistance Network (RAM).
