"The reality of man is his thought. " What we
usually think becomes manifest in our actions.
When working for a culture of peace, leading a
transformation of society, above all we must
believe that peace really is possible. Therefore,
the first step in preparing to exercise this
leadership involves a critical analysis of our own
convictions about this crucial time in which we
are privileged to live.
The course begins with a reflection on the crisis
of our times , leading to the conclusion that we
are living in a time when a paradigm shift is
happening, characterized by processes of both
integration and disintegration. Everyone is called
upon to reflect on their own position in this
reality, inspiring him/her to become more actively
engaged with the process of integration.
Next, a critical analysis of prevailing mental
models is performed in three core areas: the
nature of human beings, society and leadership,
examining some common beliefs that impede the
development of leadership for a culture of peace,
beliefs that are not consistent with the latest
scientific research.
Having questioned these mental models , the way is
open to consider a new style of leadership focused
on personal transformation and the transformation of
society, delving into each of the following six
elements:
Service-oriented Leadership
The purpose of leadership : personal
transformation and collective transformation
The fundamental moral responsibility to
investigate and apply the truth
A conviction of the fundamental nobility of
the human being
Transcendence
Capacity .
This conceptual framework of leadership that has
been called different names - moral leadership,
instructional leadership , transformational
leadership and leadership now for a culture of
peace - has had an impressive impact on the
thousands of people who have studied it in face-
to-face workshops in Latin America, as in other
continents. Therefore, we are happy to make it
available now digitally, to make it accessible to
many more people.
