16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence is a
global annual campaign that brings attention to
gender violence and highlights the work of
activists all over the world. It first started by the
Women’s Global Leadership Institute, sponsored
by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership in
1991.
The campaign begins on November 25, the
International Day Against Violence Against
Women, and runs until December 10, International
Human Rights Day.
This year’s campaign will continue with the theme
of “From Peace in the Home to Peace in the
World: Let’s Challenge Militarism and End
Violence Against Women.”
