Children as Peacemakers
un article par Candice Brunswick

Announcing a new book! For a really wonderful text which teaches children and their families peacemaking skills, you are invited to visit the website of Celebrating Peace.

Peace Quest is a practical, comprehensive, and motivational guide to living life as a peacemaker. The text is brimming with over 100 fun, creative, inter-generational lessons. This text has been widely field tested and is trusted by teachers, counselors, parents, faith groups, and a wide array of community groups.

Peace Quest encourages compassion, prevents violence, nurtures generosity, teaches respect and responsibility, and cultivates integrity. It is an essential tool for building peacemaking skills.

Each sale helps to give away peace resources to those who cannot afford them. Also, if you need to raise money for your organization, we have a plan where you can sell Peace Quest in your community and keep a large portion of the profits.

This site also includes free teacher pages and other fantastic information. We can be proactive and help create a compassionate generation!

The resources found at Celebrating Pace were created by a creative visionary and mother of four from Blair, NE, Kelly Guinan, who is an entrepreneaur of peace programming. For over a decade, she has worked tirelessly as a volunteer creating working models which she shares as a sort of template for others to use within their circle of influence. This model of creating programming rather than institutions has been very effective as the resources are being used literally all around the world. Please visit the site to find out more about Peace Quest, Young Peacemakers Club, PeaceMobile, Children's Peace Festivals, the Kindness Campaign and much more! Kelly has also created a charity, PeaceQuest, Inc. which provides the resources to those who want to empower children but can't afford the supplies.

Save the Children Australia UN Global Peace School Program, School Communities as Peace-builders

Peace Studies in School Curricula, What would it take to make it happen around the world?

Commentaire le plus récent:

I work for Save the Children Australia developing their UN Global Peace School Program. With this program Peace Education and Child Rights teaching and learning initiatives happening in our schools in South Australia are honoured and celebrated but the program seeks to encourage schools to instill peace-building and Child Rights into the total school community operation and ethos. We believe this focus is important because for peace-building to be sustainable, valued and relevant then every aspect of the school community's thinking and actioning should reflect the associated underpinning ideals. Therefore we believe Peace Education should be more than a lesson, more than curriculum and more than a school's motto....it's all encompassing and becomes the guiding light to the whole school's being. The focus is therefore not only upon children as the peacemakers as peace-building needs to be modelled by everyone involved with the school community.
