The Zanzibar Peace, Truth & Transparency Association ( ZPTTA NGO ) is newly born. We are working very hard to move our NGO to the destination of its Mission, to Promote, implement & sustain a True Culture of Peace in Zanzibar Community and Tanzania at large. Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous part of the United Republic of Tanzania. It comprises the Zanzibar Archipelago in the Indian Ocean, 25–50 kilometers (16–31 mi) off the coast of the mainland, and consists of numerous small islands and two large ones: Unguja and Pemba.
Our NGO ZPTTA is Committed to offer Training Relevant to the time, in Peace building, Conflict Resolution Across Culture, Non-Violence Conflict, Negotiation, Reconciliation, Forgiveness, Human Rights, Gender Equality, Democracy & the Rule of law in Zanzibar community.
We work with the religious leaders, political parties, genders groups, and intellectual universities colleges down to the community level. The organization has board members who are elected three years. The board members are elected out of the formal members. They are out of the organization but have the interest to develop the community. The key indicator that may identify one to be a member of this organization should have culture of peace and human development.
Among the activities that we hope to carry out:
* Preparation of thematic prepare brochures, T-shirts and banners
* Capacity building training
* Community sensitization meetings in villages in North ‘A’ Unguja for culture of peace mobilizing
* Community sensitization meetings in South District Pemba
We are very much need of help from different Organisations, Foundations, Universities & institutions to give training to our ZPTTA NGO Members, in order to full fill the task before us now and the future..

THIS IS THE ANSWER: Help us.
For centuries Zanzibar had been a peaceful place and its people who had different origins lived in unity and harmony. However the peace and tranquility that was a hallmark of Zanzibar was shaken when political parties were established in the late 1950s and early 1960s to fight for independence. The main political parties were the Zanzibar Nationalist Party (ZNP) and the ASP afro shirazi Part ( ASP ). Despite the political misunderstanding, yet people continued to live a peaceful life.
Believe me that people were sleeping outside their houses during hot seasons, with the doors open. No one will tell you otherwise. Now our doors are all shuttered with iron bars. All shops were left open during prayers. No shops were closed, whether day or night. . ... continuation.
