Art for Peace
un article par Fernando Morais (Cibelo)
As an artist, I try to interact through my work with the community, collaborating and developing small artistic projects that, without requiring money, can count on the participation of the community and its thematic framing. In this perspective, and with the objectivo to contribute to the world-wide movement in favor of peace, I have developed the initiatives you can see on the Internet at http://paz.home.sapo.pt.

The plastic arts can serve as a way to promote dialogue and reflection of subjects concerning peace, educating and guiding the young in the understanding of a world ever more globalized, where the politics does not always serve the interests of the peoples and sometimes leads to armed conflicts with drastic consequences for the populations, as the food crises, among others, that may happen in distant regions, but which become public knowledge through the social media.
Art, with its creative process, stimulates the artistic subject, raising reflection of the work that develops and to the internalization of the theme. It makes one interested to find the result that can be found through reading.
In the cultural diversity that marks the planet, the right to be different, the identification of belonging to a group, is sometimes questioned. By listening to others, one can then come to understand the values that characterize other social groups or peoples. Is it not possible that art can help people to understand these differences?
