Young people representative from nine countries will be gathered in Santos, Brazil, next 7 to 10 August.

The World Young Volunteer’s Network for Culture of Peace will meet to discuss viable initiatives for peace to the young audience. The Young Volunteer’s Network is one of the well-successful projects promoted by the Non-Governmental Organization Brazilian Association of Organizers in Folk Festival and Craftwork - ABrasOFFA.

Until this month, young people from nine different nationalities already confirmed their presence. They are: Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, China, Spain, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Brazil. Each country will have a moment to hold a folk audio-visual presentation and to offer their typical food with tasting by selected audience.

The event will include the presentation of the Guri Project, Santos Municipality, in the opening and closing and a craftwork fair by regional artisans.

“All the programming will be dynamic and active. It’s a great opportunity to students to know other cultures”, guarantees Helena Lourenço, NGO ABrasOFFA’s president. The schools interested to participate, need to make application in ABrasOFFA by telephone 00.55.11.3227.5772 or via e-mail: abrasoffa@abrasoffa.org.br. The places are limited.

The original Youth Report for a Culture of Peace is still worth reading as the initial inspiration for the Youth Solidarity Fund of the Alliance of Civilizations.  See http://decade-culture-of-peace.org/report/YouthReport.pdf.
