	IFLAC Children's Peace Train Poetry Festival 2014 un article par Solveig Hansen IFLAC (The International Forum for the Literature and Culture of Peace) and Children's Peace Train have joined forces to host a peace poetry writing event for children. We call it the IFLAC Children's Peace Train Poetry Festival. click on photo to enlarge We invite children of any age - and their parents - to write a poem (and create a drawing if they like) about "peace in my own life" and submit it to us by June 30th, 2014. For more information, please visit our website at http://iflacpeacetrain.wordpress.com/. There you will find a flyer with the official invitation for downloading and sharing. A selection of the poems will be included in a children's peace poetry anthology to be published by December 2014. Poems can be submitted in any language - if possible with an English translation if the participants write in a language other than English. Parents and teachers should take time to explain to students about world situations. Show them pictures or documentaries so that they will have a better understanding of how they can promote peace. Simple facts of life like living simply, recycling, protecting the environment can be shared with them so that they develop a different kind of maturity - be prepared to serve others than to be served.  They will realise that peace is important if you want to improve the condition of the unfortunate. As they grow, they choose careers whereby they will be able to meet the needs of the unfortunate.
