The Culture of Peace in African Literature

This work aims to show how a culture of peace is promoted in African literature and how the literary message can be used to advance the struggle for peace in the world. It is both theoretical and practical in its approach.

The book tries to understand the issues of conflict and identify literary mechanisms that promote the culture of peace, before making proposals to optimize the contribution of literature to the culture of peace. Its approach is multidisciplinary, combining anthropology, social criticism, political science, theories of international relations and geopolitics, to understand the content ot the literary works that are studied.

The author, San Simon Coulibaly, was born December 31, 1980 at Tapoko (Toussiana) in Burkina Faso. He holds a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Modern Literature (oral literature option) and a Diploma of Higher Studies in Diplomacy and International Relations .

He is recognized as a very brilliant student successively valedictorian at the University of Ouagadougou, at the Diplomatic Institute and International Relations (IDRI) and the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) .

He is currently Advisor of Foreign Affairs to the Department of Institutional Questions and Sovereignty of the Prime Ministry of his country.

The book is available from Editions L'Harmattan - Burkina Faso, for 15.50 euros. It was published in 2010 with 156 pages.

I second Sheila Conroy's enthusiasm for this book, "The Truth."  It is innovative and appealing; and accessible for any age level of reader from youth to adult.
