The State education director, Diódoro Guerra Rodriguez indicates that within this framework they will be conducting a Civic-Cultural Day with the participation of students in basic education, supported by their teachers and parents. Guerra Rodriguez emphasized that this educational activity promotes brotherhood, respect and peaceful coexistence between the school community and society at large, "and it instills in students from Tamaulipas the importance of putting values into practice both inside and outside the classroom to achieve a better society. "

Participants will develop productions in three ways: first to make phrases or thoughts of reflection alluding to peace; second to make posters promoting peace and third to write letters that express the feelings of children and youth in Tamaulipas with respect to the longing for peace.

As part of this activity, from August 27 to September 20 productions will be developed in each school from the start of classes in two shifts, in order to introduce them into the contents of the curricula.

The project will be concluded with a celebration on Friday September 21 at 9:00 am and 17:00 pm, with a message on the State Radio System of Tamaulipas. It is suggested that each school invite people from the community to participate in their activities on that occasion.

Students, teachers and other school community who wishes to participate may call (01-834) 312-94-67 for more information about the event, or email: conset@hotmail.com.

It is difficult to find extensive listings of the many events celebrating the International Day of Peace around the world.  An exception is the United Religions Initiative which lists events for the IDP 2014 by their affiliates in Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Russia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, United States and the Philippines.
