'Peace Begins with You and Me-We're Bully Free' Concerts
an article by Cheryl Melody

My teaching concert for young children has a long title: "Peace Begins with You and Me-We're Bully Free-A Hero We Can All Be!" (www.cherylmelody.com). Original music, rap, storytelling, sound healing instruments, children's peace promises, quotations and a Peace Pledge are my tools, and this concert is my passion and life's work.

I inspire children and adults to walk on the "Peace Begins with You and Me" path, to become conscious of the positive power of their words, actions, thoughts, and to respect the universality of feelings. I encourage listening with an open heart, mind and spirit, and to suspend judgment of one another.

I search for ageless ways to advocate values of love, respect, and nonviolent conflict-resolution. I perform anywhere and everywhere in order to raise consciousness...while I myself continue with this inner process too.

On March 19th, I will be performing for K-2 and parents at The House of Peace and Education in Gardner, MA. One of my theme songs says it all: "We're all one people, all one nation, all one planet, and together we can live."

From performing a peace and healing concert in Oklahoma after the bombing to now...my Purpose is to inspire all ages to create a higher consciousness vibration of peace for all of our tender human family.
