The activity is organized for the seventh consecutive year in the framework of the activities of the International Day of Peace.

"We invite all institutions and the society at large to nominate their candidates for the Peace Prize, and to recognize those who work for a culture of peace in our country," said Jara Velásquez.

The prize has four categories. The Civil Society category has two sub categories, one addressed to individual citizens who, in the course of their life, have made outstanding actions to promote a Culture of Peace, and another, which applies to institutions and civil society organizations.

The State category is oriented to authorities, officials and public servants and public institutions.

The Media category has two sub categories: Individual Person which applies to men and women working in media and communication whose work has made a significant contribution to the construction of a Culture of Peace; and Institution, for media companies, print media and radio and television programs.

The Private Company category includes all companies or entrepreneurs who work with social responsibility and who contribute to building a culture of peace.

Candidatures, whether individuals or institutions, must be submitted by an institution, association, company or corporate body, which can only submit one candidate per category. Applications may not be submitted by persons individually.

Registration of candidatures will culminate on August 15th at MIMP headquarters, located in shred Camana 616, Cercado de Lima, or the Women's Emergency Centers located in the provinces, or by writing to premioporlapaz@mimp.gob.pe.

The names of the winners will be announced in September via the website of the MIMP and the Peace Prizes will be presented at a ceremony to be organized on the International Peace Day.
