	25th Anniversary of Culture of Peace Society un articulo por Henning Zierock, Chairman of the Culture of Peace Society International personalities will meet under the title "For a culture of peace and solidarity" at the Goethe Institute in Athens on the occasion of 25-years work of the Culture of Peace Society ( GKF ) on 18th -19th December 2013 click on photo to enlarge The event includes a concert and a conference under the patronage of the Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis and the former Director-General of the UNESCO, Federico Mayor. Both personalities have contributed significantly in the development of the global movement for a culture of peace. The concert "Voices of a Culture of Peace" takes place on 18 th December and is organized by the Greek singer Maria Farantouri together with the German songwriter Konstantin Wecker and other personalities. The conference will include interested participants from Europe, in particular from Greece and Germany, who are going to discuss items about current challenges in Europe for Greece on 19th December. Other topics will include a new energy policy, ways out of debt, labor policy, right-wing extremism and militarization. The recent film "Recycling Medea" of Euripides / Theodoraki, will be shown and followed by a discussion. An "Athens Declaration for a culture of peace and solidarity" is proposed, with new perspectives for political action.
