The sixth
annual competition of children's science fiction finished on April
20, 2002 at the inter-school astronomy center Vega located in
Zhelesnodorozhnova in the Moscow region.
At the awards

competition this year drew 264 drawings and 50 stores from the
following towns and cities: Stupino, Electrogorsk, Odinitzovo,
Vidnoe, Taldom, Zukovsky, Balashikha, Reutov and Zhelesnodorozhnova.
The gathering was addressed by scientist O. A. Ivlev, who described
how scientists convert even the most daring dreams of visionaries
into reality. Also presented was a brief history of the competition.
In addition to winners for drawings and stories for
participants in four age groups, an additional prize was awarded for
a "world of justice," a prize that was first introduced by UNESCO
during the International Year for the Culture of Peace in 2000.
Following the prize ceremony, all those present were given
time to become acquainted with an exhibition of the works of all the
prize-winners, and they were then invited to a demonstration
launching of rockets by the Rocket Models Circle. The public may see
the exhibition which is now shown at the central children's library
of Zhelesnodorozhnova.
