The second national Festival of Russian Fairy Tale took place in Suzdal from 15 to 17 February. Its organizers were the publishing house Samovar and the main tourist center of one of the earliest Russian cities, Suzdal, rich in expressions of Russian culture.
To draw attention to the Russian historical and folklore heritage and
to revive the traditions of popular holidays - these were the main objectives of the festival. This year it is dedicated to fairy tales in cinematographic art. Among the guests expected were director Oleg Tabakov, satirist Anatoliy Trushkin, actor Igor Livanov and artist of Victor Chizhikov.
The program includes the showing of fairy tale films and encounters for the spectators with the artists and performers. Also within the framework of the festival there are theatrical performances based on thems from Russian popular fairy tales. The folklore associations of Vladimir region will show their artistry, along with various contests, competitions and quizzes. Horseback riding, "King-on-the Mountain" and other games were planned - everything to cheer up and gladden both little-ones and the older generation. Also planned were a concert "Stars" of cinema and stage, dedicated to the Festivalh of Russian Fairy Tales. "This will be the best festival in Russia," according to the hopes of its organizers, and Suzdal will become the center of the Russian fairy tale.
