In order to improve this bulletin and CPNN, we are asking you, our readers, to fill out a BRIEF questionnaire with your impressions and suggestions. Please click here to go to the form, fill it out and then click at the bottom to send it in. During January, the culture of peace advanced at all levels of society as shown by the following articles. The culture of peace returned to the halls of the United Nations in New York, thanks to the briefing by United for a Culture of Peace, a newly formed group of NGO representatives. At the level of International Organizations, the most prestigious of all, the International Red Cross has taken an unprecedented stand against nuclear weapons. At the municipal level, two more cities in New Zealand have jointed the network of peace cities in that country, including Christchurch and Auckland, while in the United States, towns such as Keene, New Hampshire have started to fight back against the militarization of local police. And at the level of civic associations and alternative communities, there are stories this month from the the Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union and the Global Ecovillage Network. For these and other recent articles, see below. Note: if the photos do not show up, you may also get the bulletin at http://cpnn-world.org/bulletin/bulletin-12-2.html.
